Let’s go Stargazing in Pembrokeshire
West Wales, particularly regions like Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are well known for their dark skies due to low light pollution, making them ideal for stargazing in Pembrokeshire whilst staying in the iconic beauty of the Pembrokeshire coastal national park.
Surround yourself with nature and swap those washed out city lights for starry night skies in our quiet camp site set in the midst of Pembrokeshire’s natural beauty and splendour.
Designated Dark Skies
Designated Dark Sky Discovery Sites, like Broadhaven South Beach in Pembrokeshire, are a mere half an hour away from the beautiful, quiet and idyllic Abercastle Camp Site offer excellent views of the Milky Way and constellations.
These areas are also part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park that have implemented measures to protect the natural beauty of the night sky so that you can see the heavens in all of their natural and awe inspiring glory.

Abercastle Campsite is a CL (Certified Location) campsite, with extremely large individual pitches, with many of them surrounded by traditional Pembrokeshire banks, each one with its own picnic table and camp fire, water tap and electric hook up ( there is an additional charge for use of the hook up) where you can spend the evening just relaxing, exchanging stories, singing and playing instruments, melting marshmallows, cooking stick bread or some delicious local catch of mackerel, crab or lobster. We’ve even got WIFI!!

When you are not gazing at the stars, there’s plenty to do nearby. We’re already situated in the midst of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with the rugged Pembrokeshire coast ideal for surfing, sunbathing and a whole host of water sports. Abercastle is within easy striking distance of other attractions such as Folly Farm, Heatherton World of Activities, various National Trust properties and locations, such as the Solva Coast made up of gentle valleys and sweeping shores and St David’s Peninsula, a cultural hotspot and home to the Patron Saint of Wales St David.

The benefit of a camp site like Abercastle that is the heart of a Dark Skies Area is that you can study the stars, photograph or film them outside of your own tent, on your own pitch.
