A few clear and respectful guidelines to help everyone enjoy their stay. We want you to feel at home while keeping the campsite safe, peaceful, and welcoming for everyone – including the wildlife.

Abercastle Beach
The beach is less than a 10-minute walk from the campsite and is dog friendly – please help keep it that way by picking up after your dog.
- Parking is limited at the beach – unless you’re picking up/dropping off someone with mobility needs, please walk from the campsite.
- Do not park on the beach.
- Kayaks and SUPs must not be left on the slipway or beach unless you are present – this is a requirement from Abercastle Boat Owners CIC & the National Park
- Always take boards and boats down the slipway, not over the walls.

Barbecues
- No disposable barbecues are permitted anywhere on the campsite – no exceptions.
- Fires are allowed only in designated fire pits (see Fire Pits section below).

Borrowing Equipment
- Anne has a few personal bodyboards, sit-on kayaks, wetsuits and SUPs that may be borrowed if not in use.
- You must wear a lifejacket at all times when using sit-on kayaks and SUPs. While Anne has a few buoyancy aids, she may not have your size, and cannot guarantee them or their availability. Please bring your own if you have one.
- No instruction given
- There is no charge, but borrowing is entirely at your own risk.
- You are responsible for returning items in the condition you received them.
- Any damage, loss or need for replacement is your responsibility.
- Anne and Abercastle Campsite accept no liability for injury or damage resulting from borrowed equipment.
Chemical Toilets
- Only use septic tank-friendly liquid (check your label – not all green liquids are suitable).
- If using the wrong liquid, please empty and rinse before arrival.
- At present there is no running water at the disposal point – water containers are provided until Welsh Water completes the new connection.
Children
- Children are welcome, but must be supervised at all times.
- Be especially cautious near slopes, gates, and unlit areas.
- We have a designated quiet zone on the tracks around the house and the farmhouse (near the shower block). Please note: Y Garn is a private residence, and we are respectful of their privacy, peace and quiet.
Deliveries
- Food deliveries are welcome, but please make sure you are on-site to receive them.
- Do not send parcels to Y Garn house – it is a private home and not connected to the campsite or Garn Isaf guest house.
- Any deliveries can be made to Garn Isaf Farmhouse

Dogs
Dogs are very welcome but must:
- Be kept on leads at all times on the site
- Not be allowed to roam freely
- Not disturb wildlife or livestock (including hedgehogs and sheep)
- Not be left unattended
- Not attack or harass hedgehogs
- All dog poo must be picked up and binned
- Please also keep dogs on leads near cliffs and the coast path – this follows RNLI advice for safety.
Electric Hook-Up (EHU)
- Hook-ups are 10-amp fused supplies – standard household kettles will trip them. Use low-wattage camping kettles.
- Only use proper outdoor-grade EHU cables.
- Long leads are recommended as hook up points may be some distance from your set up as the pitches are large.
- EHU is available for an extra charge – please request when booking.
Facilities – Shared Use
- There are four shared permanent facilities, with a fifth only opened at busy times.
- Each has a fridge – please store only food in the fridge, not on shelves or floors of the facilities.
- Shared facilities are cleaned at least once daily in peak season – please leave them tidy.
- Please bring your own washing up things, towels, and tea towels.
- Do not lock external doors to shared facilities.
Facilities – Sole Use
- If you’ve been allocated your own facility or sharing with someone you know:
- It will be clean on arrival with a toilet roll and washing-up liquid.
- It won’t be cleaned during your stay – please keep it clean and leave it tidy on departure.
- You can leave your items in the facility – no one else will have access.
- Facilities may be reassigned in emergencies – you’ll be informed if that’s the case.

Fire Pits
- Every pitch has a designated fire pit.
- Do not dismantle or move the stones – if they’re disturbed, please restore them to how you found them.
- You must be pitched at least 6 metres from the fire pit.
- Only build a fire when you’re ready to light it – hidden embers can reignite.
- Never leave fires unattended. They will be extinguished if found unaccompanied.
- Use the metal bucket and water provided to fully extinguish your fire after use.
- Campfires may be banned in dry or high-risk conditions at Anne’s discretion, or on advice from official sources e.g. Met Office.
- Wood can be purchased locally or brought with you (but not tanalised wood, please).
- Occasionally, Richard from Mathry delivers firewood for £5 per bag – please use the honesty box to pay.
Hedgehogs & Wildlife
- Drive slowly, especially at night – we have hedgehogs on site.
- Dogs must not disturb or harm hedgehogs.
- Please do not feed any wild creature
- Respect the wildlife – it’s one of the things that makes this place special.
Pitch Facilities
Each pitch includes:
- A picnic table
- A fire pit
- A water tap (either on your pitch or close by)
Recycling & Rubbish
We recycle:
- Glass
- Tins
- Paper & cardboard
- Tetra packs
- Batteries
- Most plastics (including peel-back lids – but not black/grey plastic boxes)
- Food waste
- Do not leave old camping gear, chairs, or large items – please take these home with you.

Quiet Site
- We are a no radio site.
- Quiet hours are expected from 10:30pm.
- Music is allowed only if no one outside your pitch can hear it.
- Please keep the overall atmosphere peaceful – many guests come here for rest, not noise.
Vehicular Access & Speed
- Access the site via the top entrance only – not through Garn Isaf or behind Y Garn.
- The site speed limit is 5mph – be mindful of children, dogs and wildlife.
WiFi & Signal
- WiFi is available but limited – not suitable for gaming or streaming.
- No refunds are given if WiFi is unavailable.
- Most mobile networks have good 3G/4G coverage on site.
If you have any questions, need help, or aren’t sure about anything – just ask Anne or ring 07969 529929.
